DANISH FEAST
The Metropolis Association and the Embassy of Denmark in Lebanon have the pleasure to present from the 26th of September to the 2nd of October a cycle of Danish cinema entitled Danish Feast: A taste of classic and contemporary filmmakers.
Cultural impact, from silent films to the talkies, from escapism to social realism, from family comedies to the Dogme film, from mainstream to avant-garde, from action flicks to documentaries – the history of Danish film covers it all.
Denmark has a long tradition of upholding a diverse film production that embraces powerful artistic expressions as well as broadly appealing stories for all ages. This film festival is a celebration of the film makers behind the long Danish film tradition. It offers a taste of the work of great directors such as Axel, Vinterberg and Trier as well as a new bold documentary scene and reflects the quality and variety of Danish Cinema before and now. We hope that this festival will entertain, challenge and move the Lebanese audience as much as it has moved the Danish people through many years.
