Synopsis

 

After the death of her husband, Emilie Ekdahl, a theater company owner in Uppsala, marries a bishop and moves in with her two children, Alexander and Fanny. The kids feel utterly miserable in this austere new setting, particularly Alexander who’s constantly fighting his cruel stepfather. But that is until they meet Isak, a Jewish antiques dealer, who helps them move out.
