Founded in 2016, the Youth Animation Platform’s goal is to promote an appreciation of cinema in general, animated films in particular, and to foster an active approach to films while encouraging creative thinking, storytelling, and self-expression.
The YAP Flipbook Workshop is a great interactive introduction to the world of animation and a chance for young talents to experiment with animated drawings and create their own flip books. The workshop includes screenings of animated shorts and a quick tour behind the scenes to uncover the secrets of animation.
The workshop is free and open to youngsters aged 8 -11.
Date: Saturday November 1st, from 3 PM to 5 PM at the Metropolis Cinema, Mar Mikhael, Beirut.
The workshop will be given in Arabic, but will also accommodate English & French speakers.
Participation guideline:
-Applicants must be aged between 8 and 11
-Places are limited. Priority for applications received by October 15, 2025

About Fadi Syriani
Born in Beirut, Lebanon, Fadi Syriani is an animator, a writer/director and a holder of a Master’s Degree in Architecture. In 2018, Fadi founded the Youth Animation Platform (YAP), offering young talents the opportunity to tell their stories through animation. As a YAP Lead Mentor, Fadi offers young filmmakers hands-on training to all the elements required for the production of animated films, and different kinds of animated art. Since its inception, YAP has held several on-site as well as online workshops in Lebanon and the MENA Region.Fadi is currently finishing his debut stop motion animated short film ‘The Day Vladimir Died’, supported by AFAC, DFI, OIF & several European Film Funds.
L’ATELIER YAP FLIPBOOK
Fondée en 2016, la Youth Animation Platform a pour objectif de promouvoir une appréciation du cinéma en général, des films d’animation en particulier, et de favoriser une approche active du film tout en encourageant la pensée créative, les récits et l’expression de soi.
L’atelier YAP Flipbook est une excellente introduction interactive au monde de l’animation et une occasion pour les jeunes talents d’expérimenter des dessins animés et de créer leurs propres flipbook. L’atelier comprend des projections de courts métrages animés et une brève visite en coulisse pour révéler les secrets de l’animation.
Date et lieu: Samedi 1 novembre, de 15H à 17H, au Metropolis Cinema, Mar Mikhael, Beirut
L’atelier sera donné en Arabe, mais accommodera aussi les langues anglaise et française.
Conditions de participation:
- Le participant doit être âgé entre 8 et 11 ans
- En raison des places limitées, uniquement les demandes complètes présentées avant le 15 octobre seront considérées.

A propos de Fadi Syriani:
Fadi Syriani, animateur, scénariste et réalisateur libanais est le fondateur de la Youth Animation Platform (YAP) , qui a pour objectif de former les jeunes cinéastes aux différentes techniques de l’animation à travers des ateliers organisés au Liban et dans la région MENA.

تأسست منصة الشباب للرسوم المتحركة (YAP) عام 2016، بهدف تعزيز تقدير السينما بشكل عام والأفلام المتحركة بشكل خاص، مع تحفيز التفكير الإبداعي، وسرد القصص، والتعبير عن الذات.
ورشة عمل YAP Flipbook تفتح بابًا أمام المشاركين لاكتشاف عالم التحريك، وتمكّن المواهب الشابة من خوض التجربة وصناعة كتبهم المتحركة الخاصة. تشمل الورشة عروضاً لأفلام قصيرة متحركة وجولة سريعة خلف الكواليس لاكتشاف أسرار الرسوم المتحركة.
الورشة مجانية ومفتوحة للذين تتراوح أعمارهم بين ٨ و١١ سنة.
التاريخ: السبت ١ تشرين الثاني، من الساعة ٣ حتى ٥ بعد الظهر في سينما متروبوليس، مار مخايل، بيروت.
ستُقدَّم الورشة باللغة العربية، وباللغتين الإنجليزية والفرنسية.

فادي سرياني
وُلد فادي سرياني في بيروت، لبنان، وهو رسام ومخرج وكاتب حاصل على درجة الماجستير في الهندسة المعمارية. في عام 2018، أسس فادي منصة الشباب للرسوم المتحركة (YAP) التي تتيح للمواهب الشابة فرصة سرد قصصهم من خلال الرسوم المتحركة.بصفته مرشدًا رئيسيًا في YAP، يقدم فادي للشباب تدريبًا عمليًا على جميع العناصر المطلوبة لإنتاج الأفلام المتحركة وأنواع مختلفة من الفن المتحرك. منذ تأسيسها، نظمت YAP العديد من الورشات سواء على أرض الواقع أو عبر الإنترنت في لبنان ومنطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا. يعمل فادي حاليًا على إكمال فيلمه القصير المتحرك الأول بتقنية إيقاف الحركة "اليوم الذي مات فيه فلاديمير"، والذي تم دعمه من قبل الصندوق العربي للثقافة والفنون (AFAC) ومؤسسة الدوحة للأفلام (DFI) والمنظمة الدولية للفرنكوفونية (OIF) وعدة صناديق سينمائية أوروبية.
