An invitation to travel in the cinema of the world through the work of Lebanese film producers, shedding light on their exceptional talent not only in Beirut, but also Cairo, Paris and Los Angeles. This programme wanted to celebrate their innovative vision, their particular flair but also their artistic influence on the international film industry.
The program presented several films of producer Assia Dagher, a Lebanese film pioneer who has kicked off her production company in Egypt, and is known for launching the cinematographic careers of Faten Hamama and Sabah. It has also introduced works of two acclaimed Lebanese producers in Paris: Jean- Pierre Rassam (produced films by Jean-Luc Godard, Robert Bresson, Maurice Pialat or Jean Eustache) and Gabriel Boustany (Louis Malle, Claude Chabrol and Bertrand Tavernier). The programme also shed the light on the Lebanese who made success stories such as Rita Dagher (Oliver Stone, Barbet Schroeder and Michael Moore) and Silvio Tabet (David Cronenberg, Francis Ford Coppola and Alejandro Jodorowsky). The second edition has paid tribute to renowned actress Hiam Younes who has introduced one of her films during the event.
