يَسُرُّ بعثة الاتحاد الأوروبي في لبنان، تحت رعاية وزارة الثقافة، وبالشراكة مع جمعية "متروبوليس سينما" وبالتعاون مع الدول الأعضاء في الاتحاد الأوروبي، الإعلان عن تنظيم مهرجان السينما الأوروبية بدورته الثلاثين في الفترة الممتدة من ٨ إلى ١٧ تشرين الأول ٢٠٢٦، في سينما متروبوليس (مار مخايل).

يُفتتح المهرجان مساء الخميس ٨ تشرين الأول بالفيلم الفرنسي "فينوس الكهربائية" La Vénus électrique للمخرج بيار سلفادوري، وهو عبارة عن كوميديا رومنسية افتُتِح بها مهرجان كانّ السينمائي الدولي بدورته التاسعة والسبعين في شهر أيار ٢٠٢٦. (الافتتاح بدعوة خاصّة)

ويتضمّن المهرجان في دورته الثلاثين مجموعة منوعّة من العروض والفعاليات:

• ٢٤ فيلماً روائياً طويلاً حديثاً من أوروبا، مما يسمح للجمهور بمشاهدة أفلام عُرِضت في أبرز المهرجانات السينمائية العالمية وحازت على جوائز؛
• عرض سينمائي لفيلم صامت ترافقه موسيقى حيةciné-concert ؛
• الفيلم الكلاسيكي "حصان تورينو" (The Turin Horse)  يُلقي عبرها المهرجان لفتة تكريم للمخرج بيلا تار؛
• الفيلم الكلاسيكي "صديقة بوبي" (La ragazza di Bube) بنسخته المرمّمة للمخرج لويجي كومنشيني في لفتة تكريم للممثلة كلوديا كاردينالي؛
• الفيلم الكلاسيكي "فتيات ويلكو" (The Maids of Wilko) بنسخته المرمّمة احتفالاً بمئوية ميلاد المخرج البولندي أندريه فايدا؛
• برنامج مزدوج يُعرض فيه فيلم "الموجة الجديدة"  (Nouvelle Vague)للمخرج ريتشارد لينكليتر يتبعه عرض الفيلم الكلاسيكي "منقطع الأنفاس" (À bout de souffle) للمخرج جان لوك غودار بنسخته المرمّمة؛
• الفيلم اللبناني الطويل "كلب ساكن" (Dead Dog) للمخرجة سارة فرنسيس بحضور فريق عمل الفيلم؛
• الفيلم اللبناني القصير "شهوة" (Birthmark) للمخرج جورج بيتر برباري بحضور فريق عمل الفيلم (يُعرض في سينما مونتاني – المعهد الفرنسي)؛
• ١٠ أفلام قصيرة لمخرجين لبنانيين تتنافس للفوز بجوائز تقدّمها الدول الأعضاء؛
• في قسم مستحدث في المهرجان، تُعرض تجربتان تفاعليتان بالواقع الافتراضي عبر فيلمين قصيرين مصمّمين بتقنية الرسوم المتحركة؛
• ورشة تفاعلية بالإشتراك مع "منصة الرسوم المتحركة للشباب"؛
• معرض ملصقات.

إلى ذلك، سيتم عرض ثلاثة أفلام تتوجه للجمهور اليافع، من بينها فيلمي رسوم متحركة وفيلم ألماني مُدبلج إلى العربية. وستوجّه دعوة لأطفال وشباب من الفئات الاجتماعية والاقتصادية الأكثر حرماناً لمشاهدة هذه العروض.

ويستضيف المهرجان في دورته الثلاثين المخرجة والمنتجة البلغارية تاتيانا باندورسكا التي ترافق عرض فيلمها "الفراولة البرية" (Wild Strawberries) والناقد السينمائي الفرنسي جان ميشال فرودون الذي سيقدّم الأفلام الكلاسيكية.

وجرياً على عادته في كلّ دورة، يُقدّم المهرجان بالتعاون مع جمعية "متروبوليس سينما" و"إرتجال" وTunefork Studios عرض موسيقي سينمائي يرافقه موسيقىciné-concert . وتقدم هذه الدورة فيلم "في الليل" (Dans la nuit)، وهو التجربة الإخراجية الوحيدة والأخيرة للممثل شارل فانيل، وهو يعدّ أيضاً آخر فيلم صامت كلاسيكي في تاريخ السينما الفرنسية. ويُعرض الفيلم بنسخة رمّمها "معهد لوميير"، يرافقه عزف موسيقى حيّة من تأليف وأداء أنطوني صهيون وفادي طبّال وجوليا صبرا ومكرم أبو الحسن وبافلو ورديني.

وفي دعم مستمرّ للمهرجان للسينما اللبنانية، يُعرض الفيلم اللبناني الطويل "كلب ساكن" (Dead Dog) بحضور المخرجة سارة فرنسيس والمنتجة لارا أبو سعيفان وفريق عمل الفيلم، في عرض أول قبل انطلاق عروضه التجارية في الصالات اللبنانية. كما يُعرض لأول مرة في لبنان الفيلم القصير "شهوة" (Birthmark) للمخرج جورج بيتر برباري والمنتجة كريستيل يونس، بعد عرضه الأول في مهرجان كليرمون-فيران الدولي للأفلام القصيرة وجولته البارزة على أبرز المهرجانات الدولية.

وبالاشتراك مع "مؤسسة سينما لبنان"، يُعرض الفيلم القصير "الداية"، يليه جلسة نقاش مع المخرج شادي يونس والمنتجة روللي ديب عن الاستخدامات العملية للذكاء الاصطناعي في صناعة الأفلام والتحديات المرتبطة بها.

ويُخَصِّص المهرجان جائزتين للأفلام المشاركة في مسابقة الأفلام القصيرة، تتيح للفائزين فرصة حضور مهرجان سينمائي دولي رائد في أوروبا، بدعم من معهد غوته – لبنان والمعهد الفرنسي في لبنان.

وبالإشتراك مع "منصة الرسوم المتحركة للشباب" YAP Youth Animation Platform، تُنظّم ورشة لليافعين من عمر ١٢ إلى ١٤ عاماً، بتسيير فادي سرياني. وتتيح هذه الورشة للمشاركين التعرّف إلى أساسيات الرسوم المتحركة، واكتساب المهارات والتقنيات اللازمة لصنع مقاطع قصيرة متحركة.

وستتضمن الدورة الثلاثون أيضاً معرضاً للملصقات، تمّت دعوة فنانين ومصممي غرافيك ومصممي ملصقات للمشاركة فيه من خلال دعوة مفتوحة، لتقديم تصاميمهم الجديدة لملصقات أفلام أوروبية حازت استحسان النقاد. ويحتفي المعرض بفن تصميم ملصقات الأفلام كأداة إبداعية وسردية مؤثرة، تُمكّن الفنانين من التعبير عن رؤيتهم الشخصية للفيلم.

أما مسك الختام فسيكون مساء السبت ١٧ تشرين الأول مع عروض مسابقة الأفلام القصيرة، يتبعها حفل توزيع الجوائز. ويُذكر أن لجنة التحكيم هذه السنة مؤلفة من الممثل جورج خبّاز، والممثلة ريتا حايك، والناقد والمستشار السينمائي الياس دُمَّر.

أما عن ملصق مهرجان هذه الدورة، فهو من تصميم ميلاد سبعلي، وقد اختير عقب مسابقة أُطلِقَت عبر الإنترنت.

ويستمرّ المهرجان في سعيه إلى الترويج للثقافة الأوروبية وعرضها على أكبر عدد ممكن من الجماهير من خلال تنظيم محطات في مناطق لبنانية مختلفة مثل صيدا وجونية وطرابلس في شهري تشرين الأول وتشرين الثاني.

Under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture, the Delegation of the European Union to Lebanon, in partnership with the Metropolis Cinema Association, and in cooperation with the European Union Member States, is pleased to announce the 30^th European Film Festival in Lebanon. This anniversary edition will be held at Metropolis Cinema (Mar Mikhael) from 8 to 17 October 2026.

The European Film Festival will open on Thursday 8 October with the French film La Vénus électrique by Pierre Salvadori. This romantic comedy opened the 79^th edition of Cannes Film Festival this May 2026. (The opening night is by invitation only.)

The programme of this 30^th edition presents a wide variety of screenings and events:

• 24 recent feature films from Europe allowing the audience to watch award-winning films, which were screened at major international film festivals;
• 1 ciné-concert with live music;
• 1 classic feature film “The Turin Horse” screening in its restored copy as an Hommage to Béla Tarr;
• 1 classic feature film “La ragazza di Bube” by Luigi Comencini screening in its restored copy in tribute to Claudia Cardinale;
• 1 classic feature film “The Maids of Wilko” screening in its restored copy on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Andrzej Wajda;
• a special Double Bill program presenting “Nouvelle Vague” by Richard Linklater, followed by the screening of the classic feature film “À bout de souffle” by Jean-Luc Godard in its restored copy;
• 1 Lebanese feature film “Dead Dog” by Sarah Francis to premiere in the presence of the film team ahead of its release in Lebanese cinemas;
• 1 Lebanese short film “Birthmark” by George Peter Barbari to premiere in the presence of the film team (screening at Cinema Montaigne – Institut français du Liban);
• 10 short films produced by emerging Lebanese filmmakers, and competing to win awards offered by Member States;
• in a newly-introduced section in the festival, two interactive animated VR Experiences will be showcased;
• 1 animation workshop in partnership with YAP Youth Animation Platform;
• Poster Exhibition.

The feature films’ selection includes three films for the young audience, including two animations and one German film dubbed to Arabic. The Festival will invite children from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds to these screenings.

The festival welcomes in its 30^th edition Bulgarian director and producer Tatyana Pandurska who will accompany the screening of her film “Wild Strawberries”, and renowned French journalist and film critic Jean-Michel Frodon who will be introducing the Classic / Hommage films.

Keeping up with its yearly tradition, the festival will present in partnership with Irtijal and Tunefork Studios a unique ciné-concert experience: “Dans la nuit”, the 1930 film by Charles Vanel, considered to be one of the last silent films in the history of French cinema, will screen in its restored copy (courtesy of Institut Lumière), accompanied by the original music of Anthony Sahyoun, Fadi Tabbal, Julia Sabra, Makram Aboul Hosn and Pavlo Wardini.

The festival continues its support to Lebanese cinema, welcoming the premiere of Lebanese feature film “Dead Dog” in the presence of the director Sarah Francis, the producer Lara Abou Saifan and the film team, ahead of its release in Lebanese cinemas. Also premiering in a special screening at Cinéma Montaigne (Institut français du Liban) the Lebanese short film “Birthmark” in the presence of the director George Peter Barbari and the producer Christelle Younes, after its successful run in international festivals following its World Premiere at the prestigious Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival.

In partnership with Fondation Liban Cinéma, the screening of the short film “Doula” will be followed by a Q&A discussion titled “Doula: Where Filmmaking Meets AI as a Creative Tool” with the director Chadi Younes and the producer Rolly Dib, exploring the practical uses of AI in filmmaking and the challenges that come with it, from shooting and visual development to post-production.

The Festival will award two prizes for the films participating in the Short Film Competition. Winners will be invited to attend a leading international film festival in Europe, in partnership with Goethe-Institut Libanon and Institut français du Liban.

In partnership with YAP Youth Animation Platform, an animation workshop will be held, allowing young participants aged 12 to 14 years old to learn about the vast and creative world of animation, and acquire technical skills needed to create small animated clips. This workshop will be given by Fadi Syriani.

The 30^th edition will also include a poster exhibition, for which visual artists, graphic designers, and illustrators were invited through an open call to reimagine posters from acclaimed European films. The exhibition celebrates film poster design as a powerful creative and narrative tool, giving artists space to express their personal vision of a film.

The Festival closes on Saturday 17 October with the screenings of the Short Film Competition, followed by the Awards Ceremony. Joining the Jury this year are actor Georges Khabbaz, actress Rita Hayek and film critic & advisor Elias Doummar.

This edition’s poster was designed by Miled Sebaaly, following a competition launched online.

In its continuous effort to promote and disseminate European culture to the widest possible audience, the Festival is scheduled to run in regions across Lebanon throughout October and November, including in Saida, Jounieh and Tripoli.

Sous le patronage du Ministère de la Culture, la Délégation de l'Union européenne au Liban, en partenariat avec l’Association Metropolis Cinéma et en coopération avec les États membres de l’Union européenne, a le plaisir d’annoncer la 30^e édition du Festival du Cinéma Européen au Liban, qui se déroulera au cinéma Metropolis (Mar Mikhael) du 8 au 17 octobre 2026.

Le Festival du Cinéma Européen débutera le jeudi 8 octobre avec le film français La Vénus électrique de Pierre Salvadori. Cette comédie romantique a ouvert la 79^e édition du Festival de Cannes en mai 2026. (La soirée d’ouverture se tiendra sur invitation uniquement.)

Le programme de cette 30ème édition inclut :

• 24 longs métrages européens récents, permettant au public de découvrir des films primés, qui ont été projetés dans de grands festivals internationaux ;
• 1 ciné-concert avec performance musicale en direct ;
• 1 film classique, The Turin Horse, projeté dans sa version restaurée en hommage à Béla Tarr ;
• 1 film classique, La ragazza di Bube de Luigi Comencini, projeté dans sa version restaurée en hommage à Claudia Cardinale ;
• 1 film classique, The Maids of Wilko, projeté dans sa version restaurée à l’occasion du centenaire de la naissance d’Andrzej Wajda ;
• une double séance spéciale qui présente Nouvelle Vague de Richard Linklater, suivi de la projection du film classique À bout de souffle de Jean-Luc Godard dans sa version restaurée ;
• 1 long métrage libanais, Dead Dog de Sarah Francis, présenté en Première en présence de l’équipe du film, avant sa sortie dans les salles libanaises ;
• 1 court métrage libanais, Birthmark de George Peter Barbari, présenté en Première en présence de l’équipe du film, au Cinéma Montaigne – Institut français du Liban ;
• 10 courts métrages produits par de jeunes réalisateurs libanais émergents, en lice pour des prix offerts par les États membres ;
• pour la première fois dans le cadre du Festival, deux expériences interactives en réalité virtuelle (VR) seront présentées ;
• 1 atelier d’animation, en partenariat avec YAP Youth Animation Platform ;
• une exposition d’affiches.

Parmi les longs métrages, le Festival du Cinéma Européen propose trois films destinés au jeune public, dont deux films d’animation et un film allemand doublé en arabe. Des séances seront organisées pour des enfants issus de milieux socio-économiques défavorisés.

Pour cette 30^e édition, le Festival accueillera la réalisatrice et productrice bulgare Tatyana Pandurska, qui accompagnera la projection de son film Wild Strawberries, ainsi que le journaliste et critique de cinéma français Jean-Michel Frodon, qui présentera les films classiques de la section Hommage.

Fidèle à sa tradition annuelle, le Festival présentera, en partenariat avec Irtijal et Tunefork Studios, une expérience unique de ciné-concert avec Dans la nuit, le film de 1930 de Charles Vanel, considéré comme l’un des derniers films muets de l’histoire du cinéma français. Le film sera projeté dans sa version restaurée, avec l’aimable autorisation de l’Institut Lumière, et accompagné en direct de la musique originale d’Anthony Sahyoun, Fadi Tabbal, Julia Sabra, Makram Aboul Hosn et Pavlo Wardini.

Le Festival poursuit également son soutien au cinéma libanais avec la Première du long métrage Dead Dog de Sarah Francis, en présence de la réalisatrice, de la productrice Lara Abou Saifan et de l’équipe du film, avant sa sortie dans les salles libanaises.

Le court métrage libanais Birthmark de George Peter Barbari sera également présenté en Première lors d’une séance spéciale au Cinéma Montaigne (Institut français du Liban), en présence du réalisateur et de la productrice Christelle Younes. Le film sera présenté après son parcours réussi dans plusieurs festivals internationaux, à la suite de sa Première mondiale au prestigieux Festival international du court métrage de Clermont-Ferrand.

En partenariat avec la Fondation Liban Cinéma, la projection du court métrage Doula sera suivie d’une discussion avec le public intitulée « Doula : quand le cinéma rencontre l’IA comme outil créatif », avec le réalisateur Chadi Younes et la productrice Rolly Dib. La rencontre explorera les usages pratiques de l’intelligence artificielle dans le cinéma et les défis qui les accompagnent, du tournage et du développement visuel à la postproduction.

Le Festival décernera deux prix récompensant les films participant à la compétition de courts métrages. Le Festival offrira aux gagnants la possibilité d’assister à un festival international de cinéma en Europe, grâce à la contribution du Goethe-Institut Liban et de l’Institut français du Liban.

En partenariat avec YAP Youth Animation Platform, un atelier d’animation sera organisé pour les jeunes participants âgés de 12 à 14 ans. L’atelier leur permettra de découvrir l’univers vaste et créatif de l’animation et d’acquérir les compétences techniques nécessaires à la réalisation de petits clips animés. Il sera animé par Fadi Syriani.

La 30^e édition comprendra également une exposition d’affiches, pour laquelle des artistes visuels, graphistes et illustrateurs ont été invités, dans le cadre d’un appel à candidatures ouvert, à réimaginer les affiches de films européens acclamés. L’exposition met à l’honneur l’affiche de cinéma comme un outil créatif et narratif puissant, offrant aux artistes un espace pour exprimer leur vision personnelle d’un film.

La soirée de clôture du Festival se tiendra le samedi 17 octobre. Au programme : les projections des films de la compétition de courts métrages, suivies de la cérémonie de remise des prix. Le jury de cette édition sera composé de l’acteur Georges Khabbaz, de l’actrice Rita Hayek et du critique et conseiller cinéma Elias Doummar.

L’affiche de cette édition a été conçue par Miled Sebaaly, à la suite d’un concours lancé en ligne.

Dans le cadre de son engagement à faire rayonner la culture européenne auprès d’un public toujours plus large, le Festival proposera également des projections en région tout au long des mois d’octobre et de novembre, notamment à Saïda, Jounieh et Tripoli.
