In a rural mountain village in Lebanon, two brothers use their father’s rifle without his permission, thinking they are doing the right thing by neutralizing a perceived threat to their livelihood. The consequences of the boys’ actions, however, are more far-reaching than they ever expected. This wonderful coming-of-age parable considers the ethics of seemingly innocuous violence in a carefully constructed warning against the perils of telling lies, misjudging enemies and engaging in the never-ending circle of vengeance.
