في أول ظهورِ لها كمخرجة، تحيي «ماري جرمانس سابا» ثورة منسية في معامل التبغ وشوكولاتة غندور اللبنانية. هذه الأحداث من السبعينات، التي وعدت بثورة شعبية، وبنتيجتها تحرير المرأة، تم محوها من الذاكرة الجماعية بسبب الحروب الأهلية في البلاد. هذا الفيلم الغني باللقطات الأرشيفية من السينما النضالية اللبنانية، يعيد بناء روح تلك الثورة، موجهاً السؤال للماضي حول كيفية تغيير الحاضر.

Dans son premier long-métrage, Mary Jirmanus Saba nous montre une révolution oubliée, sauvant de l'oubli les grèves sanglantes et réprimées des usines de chocolat libanaises et de Gandour. Ces événements des années 1970, qui tenaient la promesse d'une révolution populaire, et avec elle l'émancipation des femmes, ont été effacés de la mémoire collective par les guerres civiles du pays.

In her directorial debut, Mary Jirmanus Saba deals with a forgotten revolution, saving from oblivion bloodily suppressed strikes at Lebanese tobacco and Gandour chocolate factories. These events from the 1970s, which held the promise of a popular revolution, and with it women's emancipation, were erased from collective memory by the country’s civil wars. Rich in archival footage from Lebanon’s militant cinema tradition, the film reconstructs the spirit of that revolt, asking of the past how we might transform the present.
