In the huge city of Chongqing, the last of the old neighborhood is about to be demolished and its inhabitants rehoused. The filmmaker becomes friends with the little Zhou Hong and Mrs. Xue Lian, the last witnesses of a world soon disappeared. With a rare honesty and sweetness, the director walks us tirelessly through the meanders of a condemned space, filming the surprised and benevolent faces of the ancient inhabitants of Shibati.

Dans l’immense ville de Chongqing, le dernier des vieux quartier est sur le point d’être démoli et ses habitants relogés. Le cinéaste se lie d’amitié avec le petit Zhou Hong et Madame Xue Lian, derniers témoins d’un monde bientôt disparu.
