Synopsis

Navigating three types of images, shot in three different periods, the film explores the poetics of haunting through compositions of images that attempt to create an entanglement between the past and the present. An intimate but detached voice, a little stoic even, speaking of countless losses.  

The repeated affirmation of belonging to a place that is no longer. It is an exercise in the dismantling of Beirut's demolished Sandjak camp.  The haunting of the present by absences. The fragmentation of history and memory. The experience in the margins and the historical anachronism of a people evolving in temporal landscapes

يستكشف الفيلم، من خلال ثلاثة أنواع مختلفة من الصور تم التقاطها في فترات زمنية مختلفة، التشابك الحاصل بين الماضي والحاضر من خلال تركيبات الصور. يعبر صوت حميمي ومنفتح، مع نبرة من القسوة أحيانًا، عن خسائر لا حصر لها. يؤكد مرارًا وتكرارًا على الانتماء إلى مكان لم يعد موجودًا. يشكل تفكيك مخيم سنجق المدمر في بيروت تمرينًا في الفناء. يتراءى الحاضر بواسطة الغيابات. يتجزأ التاريخ والذاكرة. تجربة في الهوامش وتناقض تاريخي لشعب يتطور في المشاهد الزمنية.

Chantal Partamian 
Chantal Partamian is a filmmaker and archivist known for her exploration of themes like migration, identity, conflicts, and obsolescence. She primarily works with super 8mm and found footage. In her role as an archivist, she focuses on preserving and restoring reels from the Mediterranean region while conducting research on archival practices in conflict areas. Partamian's films have gained recognition and awards at numerous festivals and are distributed by Vidéographe, Groupe intervention Vidéo (GIV), and the Canadian Filmmakers Distribution Center.

شانتال بارتاميان

شانتال بارتاميان هي مخرجة أفلام تجريبية وأمينة أرشيف. يستكشف عملها موضوعات الهجرة والهوية والصراع والتقادم، وذلك باستخدام لقطات Super 8mm واللقطات المعثور عليها found footage بشكل أساسي. تركز أنشطتها الأرشيفية على حفظ وترميم البكرات من حوض البحر الأبيض المتوسط، إلى جانب البحث في الممارسات الأرشيفية في مناطق الصراع. عُرضت أفلام بارتاميان في العديد من المهرجانات و وحصلت على جوائز عدة، ويتم توزيعها من خلال (Vidéographe، Groupe Intervention Vidéo (GIV ومركز توزيع صانعي الأفلام الكنديين (CFMDC).
