فيلم وثائقي عن بدايات الثورة السورية. يحاول إياس من خلاله العودة للوئائق الأولى التي صوّرها أخوه الأصغر عروة عن الوجه الجميل لذلك الحراك المدني لتتحول الوثيقة في الفيلم إلى نقاش حول الهزيمة التي يمنا بها طالبي الحرية عبر التاريخ وكيف صنع الثوار في سوريا وثيقتهم البصرية كشاهدة لقبورهم. الأخ يبحث عن وجه أخيه الصغير الذي تغيّر وكبر وخاض تحديات جعلت منه بطلاً سينمائياً في فيلم يبحث عن مشهدٍ أخير.

 

 

A documentary about the beginnings of the Syrian revolution. With this film, in its avant-première at Montaigne Cinema, Eyas returns to the first videos, filmed by his younger brother Orwa, of the noble part of this peaceful uprising. The film explores how these visual documents become a means to discuss how it has come to pass that those who call for freedom are defeated throughout history, and how Syrian revolutionaries made these visual documents which ultimately became their tombstones. The older brother searches for the face of his younger brother who grew up, changed, and confronted the challenges that made him into the cinematic hero in a film that searches for a last scene.

 

 

En avant-première à la salle Montaigne, Eyas Almokdad revient sur les premières images filmées par son frère cadet, Orwa al Mokdad, sur le mouvement pacifique civil syrien aux débuts de la révolution syrienne. Le film suit la défaite de ce mouvement vaincu par l’Histoire, laissant derrière lui ces images, témoins de l’entrée de ce mouvement dans la tombe. Eyas al Mokdad scrute dans ces images les changements qui s’effectuent sur le visage de son frère, devenu héros cinématographique au gré des défis qu’il rencontre, dans un film à la recherche de la scène finale. La projection sera suivie d’une discussion avec le réalisateur.

إياس المقداد

سينمائي وكوريوغراف وراقصٌ سوري، يحمل إياس المقداد شهادة ماجستير في الفنون السمعية البصيرة من الأكاديمية الملكية للفنون الجميلة (KASK) في العام 2021، وشهادة ماجستير في الفنون عبر الوسائطية والبصرية والسمعية من جامعة الآب لوقا بروكسيل – بلجيكا في العام 2013، وإجازة في الباليه من المعهد العالي للفنون المسرحية في العام 2005. أخرج إياس عدّة  أفلامٍ منها "آخر مرّة" (2006)، "راقصون وجدران" (2010)، "عجين" (2011)، "شلال الدم" (2012)، "تحت الخزان" (إخراج مشترك مع عروة المقداد، 2014)، "النصف الآخر من ظلّك" (2015)، "الحظيرة" (2019)، و"الأم والابنة" (2021). تتناول أعماله الفنية قضايا سياسية واجتماعية وتبحث في الفنّ المعاصر والسينما والمسرح.

 

 

 

Eyas Almokdad

Syrian filmmaker, choreographer and dancer Eyas al Mokdad holds an M.A. in Audio-Visual Arts, The Royal Academy of Fine Arts (KASK), Ghent (2021), an M.A. in Transmedia - Audio-Visual Arts, LUCA School of Arts, Brussels (2013) and a B.A. in Ballet Dance from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, Damascus (2005). Eyas has directed several films, including The Last Time (2006), Dancers and Walls (2010), Dough (2011), Bloodshed (2012), Under the Tank (co-directed with Orwa al Mokdad, 2014), The Other Half of Your Shadow (2015) and The Hangar (2019) and Mother Daughter (2021). His artistic work focuses on political and social issues and examines contemporary art, cinema and theatre.
