In the near future everybody's good reputation can be measured and checked via a “Carma Count” – this tool decides over your occupation, housing and social status. Artist-scout Cee becomes a victim of a smear-campaign threatening her whole existence and finds out that in secret there are paid experts working on polishing or destroying the reputation of their customers or their adversaries.

Dans un futur proche, la réputation de chacun peut être mesurée à l’aide d’un « Karma Count » - cet outil détermine alors profession, logement et statut social. La chasseuse de tête Cee se voit être victime d’une campagne de diffamation menaçant son existence entière, et découvre alors un complot d’experts payés pour polir ou détruire les réputations de leurs clients ou adversaires.
